The Mysterious Stranger

The group met a strange man on their journey back from Small Town.  He seemed harmless enough and the five teenagers were worn out from both their journey and their hard fought battles over the past two days.  He explained that the gates to Gildenglade were closed and the guards were not letting anyone in until morning.  He shared a meal and his fire with them, telling stories of distant lands and adventure.

Amethyst, more shellshocked than the others after what they'd been through, interuppted his story telling to recount the horrors they'd faced in the past couple days.  The stranger actually laughed it off as being a downer of a story,  but seemed genuinely interested.

The girls were noticeably tired and the stranger suggested they get some rest. Despite not even knowing his name, the girls trusted him and all dozed off.  When they awoke, they were all safe and rested, but any sign the stranger had even been there were gone. No fire pit, no marks where he sat, no nothing.

The stranger appeared to be a younger man, and dressed in garish travelling clothes of a bard.  His hair was long and worn loose, was very light blonde with a decidedly blue tint.

  2. Since none of us thought to ask; how normal was it for the guards to shut down the town and not let people in until morning?

    1. Not. Though considering Roscommon is OUTSIDE the city walls in the first place....
