Old even by Elven standards of age, Napraeleon Thurdan is
somewhat of a folk legend in Gildenglade. During a troublesome time,
hundreds of years ago, when the elves and dwarves lived together, but only
begrudgingly, Napraeleon bartered peace by purchasing several mines in
Aphrunn above cost and then hiring only the destitute dwarven residents
outside the wall to work them. He paid a good wage and provided for the
various communities outside the wall. It was Napraeleon's work within
those communities that made peaceful coexistence possible outside the
wall, and much of the city's inclusiveness can be traced back at least
in part to Napraeleon Thurdan.
Taller than the average elf, Napraeleon maintains a natural fluidity to his movements even despite his age. Though he presents a calm and stern demeanor, he worries about his "children's children", his descendants. His own children passed away from a plague when they were still young, leaving behind their children whom Napraeleon raised like his own. He is overprotective of his family, but also puts great responsibilities on their shoulders.
Napraeleon's hair is a salt and pepper black and gray while his skin has taken a somewhat unhealthy brown and yellow hue. He dresses in fine raiment that he has shipped in from Waterdeep. He maintains a healthy interest in that area, and some believe he is originally from there.
